302 Mahogany Leather

In the world of horology nothing is simpler in operation or interpretation than a mechanical stopwatch and the 302 Series has been designed to echo this utilitarian beauty. This timepiece emphasises the elegantly balanced symmetry of the Swiss-made, 23-jewel movement at its heart.

The watch delivers 7 indications: three hands for standard time in hours, minutes and seconds, three hands for the split chronograph functions, plus the date aperture window at 4 o'clock. Despite the density of information that the dial provides, this chronograph watch remains true to the Uniform Wares signature of legible, minimal detailing. A chronograph complication is essentially a stopwatch and allows the wearer to measure elapsed time.

Each small dial registers the elapsed time in minutes, seconds and in the case of the 302 Series, 1/10 of a second with an accuracy of +/- 10-15 seconds per month. It is believed by some that the true father of the chronograph was the Englishman, George Graham. In the mid to late 18th century, Graham constructed a mechanical instrument that could start and stop time as precisely as one sixteenth of a second.
